A Divided Country

This article is worth reading.

The part that it hit me is how divided we are on the issues, and how our leadership has left us didvided. They have spent time on special interest needs other than our own.

Last I wrote about the primaries and how devoid they have become. I think we need to open up to more then two parties. The two parties have become a clearing house for two sides of the political system respectfully. They have polarized the political landscape, but have left the wishes of the people off the landscape. Everyting from the war to immigration has been ignored. Maybe we need a new approach.

Make it possible for more parties, and affordable to run thus cutting down on the needs for corperate contributions, such as pubilic funded campaigns and free campaign advertisements on the airwaves, which belong to the people. One could only hope.

Weird

My friend had a vistor Saturday Night, an unexpected one. Someone she knew from about five years ago, was found passed out in his van from alcohol. She called her step son to wake him up which was a good idea. Because when he woke up, he went into tirade. He went on his way without any problems. But can you image she was home when he first came. Could you image what would of happen if he didn't sleep some of it off and she didn't have enough time to call for help?

But the biggest question, why this perosn when hen had know reason to be there in the first place.

Primary Tuesday

I don't know about you, but I find the Primaries usless. The parties had basically the same people with few choices of alternative canidates. But, what can you do? not vote. That obtion should be never be considered.

I feel there should be a law that each party submitt at least four canidates four each slate. Each should not be able to endorse any particular canidate. Equal amount of founds should be given to each canidate. Strict guidelines should be given to each canidate as how to spend it.

Then to gain public support, we come up with a catchy title, "So You Want to be a Political Canidate." Every week we telivise it like any new reality TV show. Each week we stage a debate or series of town hall meetings. We'll have new media analyize the event. But a the normal drone type analysis, we'll have it done like "American Ideal." Simon could be the hosting this. Anything with subsatance he can endorse. This would be like not knowing you're getting substance. The public would think the are watching entertainment while their actually getting something could for them. Then people would actually would care more about politics.

The above was off the subject, but the idea came to me, and I had to go for it.
